Inside the assessment
This assessment uses the ten-item IPIP representation of the Love of Learning scale from the historical IPIP-VIA family. The official key contains seven positively keyed and three negatively keyed statements. The historical comparison table reports coefficient alpha .77 in the Eugene–Springfield source data. That coefficient describes item consistency in the source data; it does not establish the accuracy, stability, or predictive value of an individual result.
Very Inaccurate through Very Accurate receive 1–5 points. The final three negatively keyed items are reverse scored from 5 to 1, and all ten keyed values are summed for a total from 10 to 50.
