This assessment uses the four-item balanced Industry/Perseverance/Persistence short scale from the IPIP-VIA-R. In quality-filtered quota samples from Germany (n=476) and the United Kingdom (n=474), the official materials report McDonald’s omega of .82/.81. The reported 2–3 week retest reliability of .77/.53 comes from smaller analysis subsamples in Germany (n=117) and the United Kingdom (n=107). These group-level estimates do not establish the precision or stability of one individual result; the lower U.K. retest estimate also supports reading a single result cautiously. The source study administered these items within the full 96-item inventory, while TraitSpring presents this four-item scale by itself.
Very Inaccurate through Very Accurate receive 1–5 points. The first two items are scored directly; the final two are reverse scored from 5 to 1. The four keyed values are summed for a total from 4 to 20.
